I was dismissed from working today due to sickness. Its been a brief amount of time since my last journal entry. I have a horrendous fever and uncontrollable sweating. hope it passes soon.
Day Nineteen,1904,0600hrs
Wow so much sweating. Its gotta be like over 100 degrees here as it is, and on top of sickness. It just keeps getting worse and worse.

Just witnessed someone pass out. I hope they are okay. My sickness seems to be getting better. I think I'm becoming numb to it.
Day Twenty Four,1904,0800hrs
Working seems to get very monotonous and im getting very tired. Although im still sweating, I became numb to my sickness. Maybe its out of my system.

Imperialism. . .or is it?

The 2009 fantastic movie Avatar, Directed by James Cameron is a very good example of imperialism. It clearly shows imperialism and biodiversity. The movie consists of a character (Jake Sully), paraplegic marine who is accepted into an "Avatar" program to be one of the native species. The Marines find out that the native species (sky people) are inhabiting an area where a precious rock lays. This stone is worth millions and the Marines will do anything to meet their demands. The marines end up going to war with the Navi people. The marines clearly using genocide to and imperialism to try to conquer the species.

The Navi fight back with Jake Sully and push back the marines into a retreat. The marines had lost the war against the Navi. According to Answers.com, Avatar seems to fit the role for imperialism.
"The most prominent reason for imperialism was to make as much money as possible there were many ways of doing so through imperialism one was to obtain raw resources from colonial resources like gold, spices, and valuable gems. Another way of making money through imperialism was by using the people native to that area as a work force in factories and textiles. Gaining control of the people was key for imperialism to work and therefore imperials sought after land gaining and keeping strategic land points so that power could be attained and held over the people, and lastly the desire to map out and explore uncharted land was another purpose for imperialism."
